Jun 09:
I got on the plane thinking that the 13 hour flight would immediately kill me before I got to Japan. Surprisingly, it wasnt bad at all. I got a window seat and sat next to a nice guy. I played my new game of FFVII for my PSP which was fun and entertained me most of the trip. I also saw that Yuki, my teacher, was on the same flight as me even though she was taking a connecting flight afterward. But as soon as I got off the plane thats what I hit my first couple of land mines.
First I got lost less than 2 minutes from when I left the plane literally. When people got off the plain they immediately split into too groups and I did know which group to go with and I bet the person working the security cameras got a laugh from me running down one hallway then running back to the other. Fortunately, I was able to get out of customs and grab my bag, but by that time I got past customs I had realized I had left my cell phone on the plane. So I was not getting off to a great start . and unfortunately it was not getting any better anytime soon. Thankfully a lot of nice people helped me out. I was really afraid that me not knowing Japanese almost at all was going to prevent me from actually getting to the hotel. A lot of people were friendly and whenever I pulled out my map to see where I was, there was always someone to help me find my way. Taking the skyline was fun and I toke a lot of fun pictures on the way. I love my new camera. Even at almost 70 mph it was able to take nice crisp pictures from inside the train. I got some nice pictures of the surrounding areas.
I got to the subway around rush hour which was fun in itself. But again I met a nice couple that helped me out with getting my subway tickets and knowing which stops to get off. Things here are like in English like thing in Texas are in Spanish. You got the Japanese on Top and then small English translation on the bottom. So I finally got to my hotel. Checked in and it was kind of small but cozy. As soon as I got into the room I felt the delayed effects of jetlag. However, I knew I had to contact my dad to let him know to stop my cell phone service and to write all this information down while it was still fresh in my memory. I had thought about getting a rental cell phone at the airport but the prices were too high for me to actually go through with it.
Also, I found bleach on the TV . Which was just special.
